Welcome to the 2015 MYO Nanopteryx design contest!

Contest Guidelines

Contest Process
 Contestants will design their own Nanopteryx, either using their own lines or the MYO Nanopteryx Base
Entries will be submitted to DA (please ping me in your entry's description so I see it! just use @ before my username)
Once entries are closed, I will judge them based on a few different criteria, as explained below
I will select the winners and announce them within 1 or 2 days of closing the contest
Winners will be pinged and contacted, and then must choose their prize (if applicable)
Those who didn't win may donate to make their designs official

Contest Rules
You may either use the MYO Nanopteryx Base or create all new lines for your entry; they are equally eligible
 Please check out the tutorial for using the MYO Nanopteryx Base, found in the Designer Resources below!
Your design may have any range of features, colours and patterns that you wish
The basic body type must be in proportion with the species standard (ie. no giant dino birds or six legged dragon beasts!)
You may design and enter as many entries as you like
To be eligible a design must be displayed on the contest template with your username and Nanopteryx name included
Entries will be judged for each category, so you don't have to design specifically for a particular one (unless you want to!)
Those who don't win may donate $5 USD to make their designs official

Judging Criteria

There are several categories for winners, with the criteria and prizes listed below them:

Aesthetic Appearance
Designs that are appealing to look at
Colour palette, the harmony between colours and colour placement
Patterns and overall visual effect
Attractiveness and balance of features

I really loved the simple palette and flowing lines in this design.
It's almost realistic in the colour placement, and is just beautiful to look at!

2nd: Tiny by Goku-san
This duck-inspired design is so quirky and full of life, yet very natural.
I really adore the unique crest combo, and bold colours on the head!

Creativity

Eye-catching, bold designs that stand out from the rest

The computer-theme in this design is just so cool, and totally unique from the rest!
I love the patterns on the tail, and segmented markings, especially.

2nd: Choco by PeachTabby
This design made me hungry just looking at those sweet pastel sprinkles, and the dripping chocolate on top.
I think food-based Nanopteryx might have to become a thing, seeing this cute and delicious little guy!

Artistic Ability
Note: MYO Base designs are not eligible for this category
Quality, beauty of lines
Pose quality, dynamic but balanced
Character depth, including but not limited to shadow quality
Use of colour, brush strokes (whether in the painting or design)

The art and use of colour here is just gorgeous, and really gives the species a realistic bird-like appearance.
The pose is dynamic, and I love the shimmering effect on the carved Jade pieces on its body.

2nd: Chesh by LastNight-Light
This Nanopteryx is so bouncy and delightful! The energy is just beautiful.
The lines are clean, with smooth colour transitions and a great palette. Lovely!
